Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actor best recognized for her role as Detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue, for which she won the Emmy Award. Kim Delaney is famous as the Detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue. She also appeared on the drama series All My Children Philly, CSI: Miami, and Army Wives. Delaney was born the only child of her homemaker mother and high-ranking executive of her union, the United Auto Workers. Delaney was a child in the company of four brothers. When she was a kid she longed to be a reporter for the court. But after she graduated from high school and relocating in New York in the 1980s then she started modeling. Her first appearance as an actor was as an innocent teenager in the 1981 soap opera All My Children. Delaney has appeared in a variety of television shows, films and dramatics since then. Contrary to her impressive professional career, Delaney's personal life is not happy and prosperous. The talented actor has struggled with alcoholism and she has experienced two failed marriages. In 2005 she lost the custody of her son.
