Aurora

Aurora Aksnes (born June 15, 1996, in Stavanger) is an Norwegian musician and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves has been released by Decca Records and was well received by music blogs. Half the World Away, by the Oasis band for John Lewis Christmas advertisements and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole are just two of her most well-known recordings. Katy Perry shared a tweet in which Perry made a splash with her track Runaway. Enjoy the celebration of this special event. Aurora Aksnes' first musical moment was when she stumbled across a miniature piano that was in her basement, and becoming enthralled by the sounds it made. The parents of her May-Britt family along with Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to take up music not as a profession or a pastime, but for growth. To achieve this she started writing her own new compositions. She cites renowned songwriters Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan in her influences, along with a love for Bjork's style. Her mother encouraged her to perform her songs in public, not to achieve fame, but rather in order to show others the importance of their work and the good they do for the world. At age 6 She began playing the piano. At age nine, she, started writing songs. They didn't even know until the age of 14. It was never a dream to be Aurora. She claims that she simply likes to write songs. According to her, the music she writes is the way that she feels any thing.
